Some
people grow worms for fun. Others farm them on a commercial scale for
the bait and compost markets.
Worms
can help us in many different ways. The compost worms are
quite easy to raise and can turn your unwanted food and organic wastes
into a nutrient rich plant food that can be applied directly to
the base of your plants, or dissolved in water and used as a foliar
spray.
The larger types of worms such as the African
nightcrawlers, and
European nightcrawlers make for excellent bait and will catch
almost any freshwater species of fish, and many saltwater
species as well.
There are thousands of different types of worms, each with his own
purpose. Here on this website you can learn about different types of
worms and
worm farming equipment and how to raise them successfully.
